Harvest Has Come

The beginning of autumn brings one of our favorite times of the year, harvest.  Growing up on the family farm, in a farming community, surrounded by farming friends and family is the life.

The hours are early and run well into the night.  Fields once standing suddenly disappear with the horizon.  The morning’s dew is whisked away with the rising of the sun.  Endless loaded wagons mark the road to the elevator.  The crisp fall air settles into your bones as the sun fades into a swath of azure and sienna.

Harvest is a time to be thankful as we reflect on the bounty God provides. It causes us to pause and to reflect not only on the blessings of harvest but also on the every day blessings of life. For what are you grateful?
